Visiting The Louis Vuitton Exhibit In Los Angeles

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.  Normally we like to stay home for Valentine’s Day since going out to dinner can get very stressful. But this year it fell on a Saturday; so we decided to make a fun “date” out of it.  I have wanted to visit the Louis Vuitton Series 2 exhibit in Los Angeles since it opened back on Feb. 6th,moncler milano so we decided to head out to Hollywood to see the exhibit and have dinner later at Fig and Olive which is a restaurant we both wanted to try for a long time.

Let me tell you that the exhibit was well worth a visit.  Nicholas Ghesquiere became the artistic director of Louis Vuitton in November 2013 and this is his vision of the time travel through past-present-future of the brand.  The exhibit has seven rooms and it shows the process behind Ghesquiere’s technique in putting his spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection and fashion show together, moncler t shirt which was shown in Paris back in October of 2014 and just hit the Louis Vuitton Stores last week.

  • 1st room – called the “Abstract Title” shows the oversized neon logo which was initially the seal of the founder Louis Vuitton who launched his house as a trunk maker back in 1854.
  • 2nd room – called the “Talking Faces” allows visitors to experience the opening animation of Ghesquiere’s spring 2015 women’s collection for Louis Vuitton.
  • 3rd room – called the “Magic Trunk” shows one of the house’s most recognizable products in hologram projections. Heritage pieces include Greta Garbo’s LV monogrammed shoe trunk circa 1926 purchased at Bullocks in Los Angeles. (Sold recently for$37,moncler ski500)
  • 4th room – “Savior-fair Room” focuses on the “Malletage” (famous Louis Vuitton bag) inspired by the inside of a Vuitton trunk.
  • 5th room – “Backstage” recreates a fashion show’s backstage space, moncler bady rolling racks of the clothes with some of the actual runway pieces.
  • 6th room – “Infinite Show Room” is a 360 degree projection room showing runway shots of all the 48 looks from this collection, moncler jackets coming at you at every angle and in a continual loop.
  • 7th room – “Accessories Gallery” showcases the accessories on the pure canvas of Marte Mei van Haaster’s scanned, moncler vest 3-D printed figures alongside heritage pieces.

As you get ready to exit, moncler femme there is an area for souvenir stickers for you to take home.(The idea for the stickers came from the luggage labels that were often affixed to Vuitton’s trunks in the golden age of transport)  These stickers are images taken from the prints on the white denim pieces in the collection that included a hair dryer, moncler men lipstick, moncler sale headphones, moncler shoes etc.  Everyone also gets a free “Louis Vuitton Series 2” poster.

We tried to take as many pictures as we could for you to see the entire effect.  But if you live in the Los Angeles area I highly recommend you visiting the show as it is a visual treat and you can only get the real experience by being there.  The exhibit closes this weekend on February 22nd, it is located at: 1135 N Highland Ave Los Angeles CA Open 10am – 6pm.

Afterwards we went to dinner at Fig and Olive.  Pascal Lorange is the famous chef behind the food which is influenced by the coastal regions of south of France, Italy and Spain.  It has a beautiful ambiance inside and is very spacious, the great food was amazing and even though it was Valentine’s Day, the service was not that bad.  I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in New York, Los Angeles or Chicago.  We truly enjoyed our meal and over all had a fantastic Valentine’s Day.

What did you do for Valentine’s Day, I would love to know.

  1. I take chances anytime I order from unknown sellers because I have to go by their size charts which often are wrong, such as is in this case. I ordered XXL based on several reviews and this dress is huge at the bottom and shows a great deal of bosom on both sides which will require a cardigan. But the dress is so lovely, I will suffer through this 100 degree Texas weather with a cardigan just so that I can wear it. I can get away with the wide bottom due to the shape of the dress. Glad I purchased it.

  2. Love love love..i am 5’2" 112lbs. The extra small fit perfect..the material is soft and stretch..but not flimsy. It is a beautiful dress. Cant wait to show it off!!

  3. Extremely flattering for curvy figure. Actually looked better without Spanx underneath. Hugs curves in the right places, hides "back fat". I don’t know how, it just looks amazing. Im a size 14/16, ordered a size Large. Going to purchase a couple more colors. 11 commentWas this review helpful to you?YesNoSending feedback…Thank you for your feedback.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Hugged my body, stopped right below knee as I liked, however, purchased in another color and it was right above the knew. The fit was great, however, I like dresses that fall under my knees or longer.Moncler Femme

  4. I really like the idea of this dress. It’s simple and it works with most body types. I ordered the dark green which is pretty. The fabric, however, is very, very thin. It is so thin that you can see the different textures of my undergarments!I might order anther one and double them up-otherwise, a slip or Spanx are required lol It’s not office appropriate without something underneath and a sweater or blazer on top.It looks cute with gold, metal belt and a gold watch. It would be cute with sandals in the summertime too.mens moncler

  5. I have a charity gala coming up that I needed a long gown for. I was looking at renting the runway but by the time I picked what I wanted plus a back up it was going to cost me at least $150. I decided to just look for something on Amazon, stumbled across this and figured let me just try it, worst case I send it back. I’m so glad I did, the dress fits perfect and looks just as nice as any of the designer gowns I could have rented. To give you an idea on size, I ordered a Medium. My measurements are 36, 29, 41 and I am 5’3”. I was nervous it might be a little too tight on my hips but the fabric isn’t stiff so it wasn’t an issue. I will say, if you are any taller than 5’6” this dress is going to be too short on you. I’m wearing it with a 3 inch heal and it’s almost a little too short.I’m so pleased with the dress that I intend to see what else the brand has to offer.Cheap Moncler Jackets

  6. Absolutely stunning. I bought the Ivory size 6 for my 5 1/2 yr old. She wears the length of 6 but her waist is a 4/5. I will have to have the it taken in a smidge but that’s expected since she’s so tall and slender. The length is a perfect tea length. I my fear was the dress was going to look "cheaply made". But it’s perfect. I pics don’t do this dress justice. I’m glad I went against my OCD and allowed my daughter to choose between this and 5 or 6 others that I found. Her and I tried on our dresses together and it’s perfect for my champagne & ivory beaded lace wedding gown.moncler mens jackets

  7. I selected too large since their is no space provided for my comment. This dress is very nice. I love it, but cant understand the fit. The top fits well the hips fits well the skirt on the whole looks well when I am not moving. When I begin to walk the front rides up and makes a pocker. The whole skirt section needs to be altered. Very disappointing. If there were not those faults the dress would have been wonderful. I usually wear a large and ordered 2XL. To be honest the dress looks nice on me but not flattering by itself.mens moncler jackets
