A Weekend Movie And Casual Dinner Date

I love reading and have been an avid reader for a long time now. It is one of my biggest hobbies as it really relaxes me when I find a great book that can take me on a journey. I used to and still try to read a couple of chapters of any book I am currently into right before I go to sleep. Although it’s been tougher to keep that habit going in the last year or so because of I pads and social media apps, outlet moncler I sometimes find myself spending too much time on the internet and before I know it I am too tired to read. A few years ago I read Gillian Flynn’s “Gone Girl” and absolutely loved it. It was one of those books I couldn’t put down, moncler jumper the characters and story were so intriguing, moncler pet I could not wait to read what would happen next. I love mysteries and this book is definitely a good “dark” thriller mystery. I won’t say anything about the story as it has now been made into a movie that is currently a top box office hit. Most of the time when I read a book, moncler jakker the movie usually disappoints as the authors vision is lost in the translation. But I have to say this movie comes very close to the book in my opinion, mens moncler jacket which is probably because Gillian Flynn wrote the screenplay for the movie as well which I think was a great idea to keep it true to the book. It could also be the combination of great directing and filmmaking by David Fincher and the strong acting cast.

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie, cheap moncler so last weekend my husband and I had a casual dinner and movie date night to go see it. Going to the movies is actually one of the things we both love to do,moncler bady especially this time of the year it seems like the better quality movies are released.  As far as my look for our date night, moncler usa I am wearing a casual weekend look with my favorite cropped trench inspired jacket that I have had for a few years with skinny ripped jeans and my pointy leopard flats that I love. Prints Are A Spring Staple Year After Year | Jacket Society–moncler kids

Spring is here yet again and of course with it comes the “spring staple” trend of prints especially floral prints. Prints are a spring staple year after year. I have been in the fashion business for a long time and as far back as I can remember, moncler ski floral prints have always been a trend for spring summer. Flowers are, cheap moncler jackets after all, moncler gamme rouge a symbol of spring and with this every spring season we see an array of floral prints done in different ways and colors. But it’s not just florals, veste moncler there is other kind of prints like geometrics or dots and stripes that make the spring season more playful and fun. This is the time when most people take vacations or spend a lot more time outdoors and what better way to represent that fun spirit than wearing some great prints.
I have been more excited about this spring’s floral trend because I have been seeing a lot more womens jackets and blazers done in floral or other kinds of prints. Normally we are used to seeing prints done in a lot of tops, moncler grenoble skirts, moncler womens coats dresses and even some soft pants but not so much in jackets. But for spring 2014 a lot of designers have come out with innovative and unexpected ways of doing prints in tailored blazers, moncler usa moto jackets, moncler hat baseball jackets and even vests. The outcome has been great and it has put a fresh spin on doing prints in an unexpected silhouette.
Below I have picked some of my favorites from the spring 2014 runways. I know I will be looking for some printed jackets this spring and I will share my finds with you.
How about you? Please let me know your thoughts on printed jackets.

The Hudson Jacket With Bermuda Shorts | Jacket Society–moncler mens jacket

With spring being right around the corner, moncler gilet I have been looking back at all the trends that were shown for spring 2014 fashion weeks back in September of 2013.  This way I know what to look for when I am out there shopping for some new items for spring.  One of the items that had a major come back on the runways for spring 2014 were Bermuda shorts.  Personally I have always loved Bermuda shorts especially pairing them with spring jackets.   They are a great item to replace your skinny pants to wear with your jacket during the spring summer and if they are a crisp and tailored longer cut short you can even wear them to the office with your blazer and give it a spring short suit look.

To give you an idea of this look, moncler jacke I decided to feature my new Hudson jacket for spring 2014 with a my crisp tailored black Bermuda shorts for this blog story.  The Hudson jacket is a sister to the Soho jacket in the sense that they are the same kimono inspired silhouette and the fabric is also the same hounds tooth pattern just like the Soho jacket but in a red and cream combo. The loose and oversized body of the Hudson jacket works really well with the slimmer leg of the Bermuda short.  I chose to wear this outfit with some wedge sandals, monclere  a belt and some of my favorite gold jewelry to kind of dress it up a bit, mens moncler jackets  but you can wear this look with flat sandals and make it a lot more relaxed and casual.

So what do you think to the Hudson Jacket with Bermuda shorts ? Please comment – I would love to hear your opinions !

A New York State Of Mind–moncler jackets

A New York State Of Mind

As I mentioned last week I had planned and booked a long weekend trip to New York City with my son, moncler jakker so last Friday we both headed out to LAX for a short fun trip to Manhattan. Even though it went by very quickly and we are home already, moncler femme we both felt it was the right amount of days for NYC since we have both been there numerous times before and we have seen all the tourist type attractions at least one time if not more. This trip was all about spending time together to enjoy shopping in the city, moncler store getting inspired by some museum exhibitions and energized by the vibe that is so unique to NYC.

Our flight Friday to JFK was smooth with no delays, moncler homme which was great, moncler hats and we actually arrived in the city in time to settle into our hotel and have a nice dinner. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt at 42nd and Lexington right next to the Grand Central Station and next door to the Chrysler Building, moncler kinder which is one of my favorite buildings in the city. We had stayed at the Hyatt once before a few years ago and thought it was a nice hotel with a good central location so that is why we chose it again.

Saturday started out over cast but developed into a beautiful sunny day and we did a lot of walking in mid-town with our first stop being Barney’s which is a must for any visit to Manhattan, moncler jassen especially this time of the year when they have lots of sales. Well, moncler canada lucky me I scored with a beautiful “Theory” blazer that was on sale, moncler coat I will definitely style it and feature it in one of my future blog stories. We continued on to Bloomingdales and stepped into a lot of other shops in between. It was such a beautiful day we could not help but stop by Central Park for lunch and some photos and then we headed up to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) to check out the Andy Warhol exhibit of “Campbell Soup Cans” and other works.  We finished the day with a delicious dinner at Scalini Fedeli italian restaurant in TriBeCa.  I highly recommend this restaurant for great food and service and value for a prixe-fixe meal.

Sunday was another beautiful day and after a quick breakfast in Little Italy, moncler vest we set off walking through Chinatown and finally to our main destination, Soho. Even though I still really love and enjoy this area, it is sad to see that all the unique small specialty boutiques have disappeared which was one of the main reasons I used to love so much about Soho. Now all the stores are major brands that we all see everywhere and it has lost its unique appeal a little bit now for us. This is the sad result of landlord greed and how small specialty stores can’t survive the high rents and lack of high priced item sales to pay those rents. Regardless, we still enjoy Soho and we had a great shopping day, with a yummy lunch at the Mercer Kitchen and then later that evening dinner at the Balthazar, both restaurants have been there for a long time but I still love eating at both places and highly recommend them.

Monday we explored the Meat packing district and walked some of the High Line, which is an elevated park that is very popular and for good reason. It’s actually an old rail line that has been re-purposed over the past decade as a 1.45 mile-long green space, running from Meatpacking district to the northern edge of Chelsea. It was inspired by a similar project in Paris “Promenade Plantee” that was completed in 1993. We only walked a part of it as it is quite a long walk and we wanted to cover other areas like West Village and Greenwich Village and Chelsea. Even though we got some serious rain and thunderstorms that afternoon, we managed to see a lot and it was great fun.

Our last day was Tuesday but we only had a half day to accomplish everything as our flight was at 5pm. We were in a “New York City State Of Mind” and I really wanted to see this exhibit that is being held at the Met called “China through the looking glass”.  I am so glad we made the effort to get an early start because it was well worth it, especially for me. Look out next week, I will have a full blog story about this exhibit.

We took a lot of pictures on the trip and it has been hard to edit them for this blog story, but I have included some of our highlights below for you to see.  I had a fantastic time with my son in one of my favorite cities in the world and I can’t wait to go back, but I have to say it feels great to be back home.

Looking forward to hearing some of your thoughts and comments about NYC.

Wearing Our Cosmo Jacket On A Fun Summer Day | Jacket Society–moncler jacke

Wearing Our Cosmo Jacket On A Fun Summer Day

This week I wanted to style our new Cosmo jacket (sister jacket to our Lemon drop jacket) with a casual weekend look. My husband and I were meeting some friends for brunch at one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Los Angeles this weekend called Bottega Louie and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to wear our Cosmo jacket for this fun outing.

We left a little early to find a fun location to shoot before heading to the restaurant.  On our way to downtown LA,moncler coats we were passing through Echo Park and we saw the lake and the water fountains and it looked so nice, moncler parka so we decided to pull over and take our pictures there.

I decided to call this new jacket the “Cosmo jacket” because the color is so pretty and it reminds me of a cosmopolitan cocktail, moncler outlet one of my favorite drinks. The first color that came to my mind to style and pair it with was white, monclere but then I thought why not try something a bit different.

I bought this olive green “skort” a few months ago from H&M and hadn’t had the chance to wear it yet.  It looks like a wrap skirt from the front, moncler mens but it’s actually shorts underneath and the back looks like shorts hence the word “skort” (which is what they are called in the fashion industry). I actually really liked how the two colors worked together here.  I layered it with a tan tank top, moncler hat added my brown gladiator sandals and one of our turquoise necklaces for a pop of color. Finally I added one of my favorite straw hats to make the outfit a bit more fun and playful.

When I styled this shoot at the weekend, moncler size chart I had no idea we would sell out of the necklace by the time we publish this story, moncler gilet but we did!   We do have another similar turquoise necklace that will work just as well here and our Cosmo women’s jacket is available here.

After the shoot we headed down to Bottega Louie for our delicious brunch and I ordered the Belgium Waffles, moncler ski jacket something I don’t normally go for; but, moncler bady I wanted to get in the “spirit” of our upcoming vacation so I ordered them anyway (we are leaving this weekend for Amsterdam and Belgium). I am super excited and will post pictures on my Instagram and Facebook page during the trip, but I will not have a blog story next week, so please follow me on our social media sites to see our travels and adventures.  I will of course follow up with  full blog stories about the trip when we get back.

As usual I would love to hear your thoughts about my look today – what do you think of the color combination?
