Connecting With Amazing Women

A few weeks ago my husband and I were invited to an open house and art tour of the Eastern Columbia Building in downtown Los Angeles by Mary Fagnano of Downtownboomer.com.  I met Mary at the Unique LA show in early May where we talked about my Jacket line, moncler trainers downtown Los Angeles and how it has changed so much over the last decade. She was admiring my jackets and also told me that she had a blog called Downtownboomers which is about empty nesters escaping suburbia and taking up residence in a loft in downtown Los Angeles with the purpose of trading in yard work for time to have new life experiences with her husband Jay. Mary, moncler mens like myself loves connecting with amazing women and she also writes on her blog about interesting restaurants, moncler jakker fashion, moncler acorus home décor, moncler bambino art and anything else she discovers as a downtown resident. DTLA (short for downtown Los Angeles) as it is known by to many, moncler ski has changed significantly for the better over the last few years and is a really up and coming area with new developments breaking ground nearly every week it seems.

During the art tour of the Eastern Colombia building we had the opportunity to visit some of the stunning lofts throughout the building on various floors. The owners were also displaying their personal arts & crafts that were for sale during the event. We met some wonderful people which was great fun. One person that I met and instantly bonded with was Jan McCarthy.  Jan is a multi- talented woman, moncler ski jacket she is also a blogger, moncler vest an interior designer, artist, entrepreneur and radio / TV host, just to name a few. First of all I loved her loft and the way she had decorated it was simply stunning.  She was also exhibiting and selling some of her beautiful artwork that she paints, which I really loved. During our conversation, she admired my jacket and I was telling her about my company Jacket Society, how it all started and what I do on a daily basis to keep it all running smoothly. Jan then asked me what I was doing next Tuesday morning, would I be available to talk about my company and could I join her on her internet radio talk show called “The life of an entrepreneur” to which I immediately replied  “I would love to – thank you so much – how fun”

So last week I did my first ever radio interview, I was a little anxious and nervous as I did not know what to expect since I have never done a radio interview before,  but Jan made me feel so comfortable and made it so easy and fun, that the one hour show went by very quickly without a hitch.  We hit it off and after the show we decided to get a bite to eat together right around the corner from the studios at Terroni. We had a wonderful lunch and became better acquainted and I am looking forward to seeing Jan again it was so much fun.

  1. Fantastic dress. I ordered the blue check/plaid. Good, medium weight cotton (wool-like) fabric. Exactly as described, fits great (I read the sizing chart and made sure to measure well before ordering)! The sizing is based upon Asian sizing, which is smaller than US sizing…also a bit shorter. My one warning is the blue check (and most likely the red check) pattern is reversed from the photo, i.e. the is more brown with blue checks than as pictured of blue with brown checks. I will be keeping it, but I was expecting more blue than brown. I still recommend this dress if you like the swing dress style but don’t want to pay a fortune for a well-made dress.

  2. I ordered the Cheery Red and it arrived yesterday and I love it. The fabric is soft, shiny and stretchy which makes it very comfortable. The belt was too long, so since it was only glued and not sewn, I cut four inches off with scissors exposing a tiny white line where I made the cut. Quick fix—red nail polish. I am 5’6" and weigh 130 and ordered a size L which fits beautifully and looks great. I also ordered the Blue polka dot and the style and fabric are a little different than the other one. More cottony, less shiny and the bodice is different. But nice. If I had one suggestion, it would be they are a couple of inches too long. I like my dresses to end at the smallest (thinnest!) part of my leg, at the knee. I have ordered a royal blue and a black petticoat to wear with them, (shades of the fifties!) and hope they will make them a little shorter. I usually stay away from anything sleeveless, but these are so cute, folks will see the dress, not my upper arms…Would definitely buy this dress again!

  3. Very disappointed. I got the "check blue" dress because it looks like a navy blue with some brown – it is different than the picture. The large squares in pic are blue and small ones brown but mine is the opposite so it is PRIMARILY BROWN and also much darker than the picture – there was clearly some picture editing done to sell this. The material is a soft, thin flannel with a NON-cotton–maybe poly lining.Mine also has seams that are poorly done and/or undone. In addition, I checked with the seller prior to purchasing to clarify the sizing since they list one chart in the pics and a different chart in the description and was assured the one in the description below was the correct one, but NEITHER are correct. Mine (XL) is 3-4 inch difference in bust than they told me!I bought this dress in 2 other colors/designs and they all fit differently and they are all different materials.

  4. This dress is amazing! Purchased a 2XL after reading through all the reviews. I’m 5’8" with a large chest (38 DDD…no I didn’t type one too many Ds) and wear a US 12 in skirts. This dress fit like a dream. I did purchase a petticoat to add a bit of dramatic flair as I was wearing it to a 50’s style summer party. Can express properly just how pleased I am with this dress. Buy it!

  5. Love it 0CommentWas this review helpful to you?YesNoSending feedback…Thank you for your feedback.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. I now have it any two colors the teal and black and plan on grabbing a couple more colors. Extremely comfortable, and love the knee length. I stand 5’11 and a little over 175 and I adore how slimming effect of the dress. 0CommentWas this review helpful to you?YesNoSending feedback…Thank you for your feedback.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. I got it in the dark grey since I thought it would be more forgiving and also would disguise cheap fabric better. It fits about how you would expect – clingy but not overly tight, and the fabric has a fair bit of stretch anyway. For this reason, I do not think it is really work appropriate. The material is fairly thin, but could be worse, though I am a bit skeptical of how well this will hold up in the wash and expect a bit of pilling. Very sexy but not the most forgiving. 0CommentWas this review helpful to you?YesNoSending feedback…Thank you for your feedback.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. I have received about 5 of these dresses, just different colors. They fit perfectly! Not too tight or loose. I wear them for work, and everyone loves them. I feel sexy and sophisticated in them. My boyfriend loves how they curve to my body. I love the material. I’m buying 2 every payday until I have all the colors and styles. :) Happy Shopping Ladies!!outlet moncler

  6. The quality is excellent. These jumpers are required uniforms for my daughter’s children’s choir and they are very narrow. My daughter typically wears a size 12-14 in clothes, but we had to get this in a size 18 to fit her comfortably with room to grow. Do not put in the dryer, as these shrink a lot. I wish the black jumper came in plus or larger sizes for girls who are not very small.cheap moncler jackets

  7. Gorgeous dress! Material is a bit thicker than expected but that was a plus! Received sooooo many compliments that I decided to purchase the same dress in another color (so I can wear for the Fall season).I am 148-150, 34D, 5’5" and I ordered the S/M. Perfect. Perfect.moncler beanie

  8. This product is from China, in spite of what the description said. It arrived sooner than expected, which is a good thing, and the quality is fine. It does seem to run very small. I ordered a L/XL and was concerned that it would be too large. I am a 10/12. This fits well but I certainly wouldn’t want the waist any tighter…it makes me wonder if they shipped the wrong size, however there is no label. I would recommend.Moncler Outlet
